The best place to propose not only has to be romantic and picturesque but also needs to be a spot where both of you can feel connected. Here in Portugal, we are spoilt for choice when it comes to proposal locations in Lisbon, so here's our list of the top 5 places and reason why they make the perfect proposal spot!

If you’re looking to propose by the sea:
1. Propose at Azenhas do Mar
The clifftop of Azenhas do Mar is on our list as it offers breathtaking views of the ocean and rugged cliff face. It’s the perfect, romantic location for those down-on-one-knee shots. Azenhas do Mar is a seaside town located close to Sintra (just 40 minutes from Lisbon).
2. Propose at Praia Da Ursa
If you are looking to propose in front of stunning views of the Portuguese coastline, Praia Da Ursa may be calling your name. 3. Propose at Jardim do Rio
If you are looking for somewhere closer to Lisbon, this is just the place! Just a short 5-minute ferry ride across the river will bring you to an area called Almada. Here you can take a romantic walk along the riverfront and take in the views of the beautiful Lisbon bridge. Jardim do Rio is just past the riverfront restaurants and offers an intimate place to pop that life-altering question. With a backdrop of the bridge and the city of Lisbon in the distance, we’re not sure you’ll find a more romantic setting or stunning photographs!

4. Propose at Monserrate Palace
The Monserrate Palace is a palatial villa located near Sintra, the traditional summer resort of the Portuguese court in the foothills overlooking the Atlantic Ocean north of the capital, Lisbon. It is renowned for its exotic gardens, lush greenery, and architectural beauty, what makes us think it makes the ideal proposal location if you want to woo your other half with the palace’s fairytale charm, the palace and its gardens offer visitors a picturesque and enchanting experience, making it a popular tourist attraction in the region. It really is stunning!
5. Propose at Sesimbra Castle (Castelo de Sesimbra)
Sesimbra Castle, is a medieval fortress located in Sesimbra, Portugal. It sits atop a hill overlooking the town and the ocean, providing panoramic views of the surrounding area, this is sure to take your soon-to-be fiance’s breath away! Fun fact: Sesimbra Castle is a popular tourist attraction, offering visitors a glimpse into Portugal's medieval past and stunning views of the coastline.

Queluz National Palace Lisbon
Proposing at Queluz Palace would be incredibly romantic and memorable. You could plan a private moment in one of the palace's stunning gardens, perhaps near a beautiful fountain or a picturesque alcove, where you can pop the question surrounded by the palace's enchanting atmosphere and historical charm. Alternatively, you could arrange for a private tour of the palace and propose in one of its opulent rooms, such as the elegant Ballroom or the majestic Throne Room, creating a truly regal setting for your special moment. Whatever you choose, Queluz Palace provides a magical backdrop for a proposal that you and your partner will cherish forever.
