We both hail from the green green grass of Ireland. Where we spend limited time during the year due to our intolerance to rain.
After spending some time in S.E Asia, Korea & Australia, we’ve now made Portugal our home.

Pre Session Checklist
What to wear

Think of colours that compliment the surroundings
Blue, aqua, turquoise, navy, and green always work well at the beach as the colours are very similar and blend in well with the surroundings. These colours are also great for bringing out the best skin tone.

Choose your fabric wisely
Soft fabrics work best at the beach. Think loosely fitted linen and cotton materials that flow and are comfortable to move around in.

Don’t be afraid to go bold
Bold colours such as pink and coral offer a great pop and contrast against the blue sea and sky and can produce wonderful colourful images.

Change of Clothes
Always prepare a change of clothes for children as they can get wet or dirty very quickly!

Patterns, Patterns, Patterns
If you choose a pattern, you can select the others outfit based on and around this pattern by carefully selecting colours from that pattern.

Don’t be too matchy matchy!
Yes there is a thing as being too matchy matchy haha! By wearing the same clothes and colour across the board, it can make the photos look old fashioned and dated. Think colour schemes rather than individual colours.

Colours for Sunrise / Sunset
Think of the colours of the sunrise and sunset - orange, lilac and pink blend in very well with the mood and atmosphere of the surroundings.

Easily removed shoes
Going barefoot on the sand can have a very natural and earthy feel. Make sure and wear shoes that can easily be taken off when needed.

Neutral Colours
Neutral and natural colours blend nicely into the natural environment and offers an elegant look.
What to Bring

Check yourself!
Check your hair and clothes and make sure it’s tidy. Bring a brush and possibly hairspray if needed.

Props
Don’t forget to pack your props if you are bringing any, such as teddy bears, blankets, scarfs, umbrellas etc.

Check your pockets
Don’t have anything in your pockets such as phone, wallet, keys etc. These will add a weird dimension to your images!

Think about the kiddies
Bring water, sunscreen and snacks for the kids. They will need all three if our in the sun for a few hours. Also don’t forget a change of clothes for the kids. (because you just never know)! Baby wipes can also be great and usually needed!
